Designed by industrial designer Joey Ruiter of JRuiter + Studio, the Growler bike is yet another interesting innovative design in the biking category. While more and more commuters are getting conscious about the carbon footprints while commuting, recent years have seen a big transition whereby alot of people prefer biking instead of burning gas. While, each user has specific requirements, the most common of them all is storage issues, especially when it comes to transporting a beer or milk bottle on the bike. While Ruiter enjoys the joy of the design process by observing what is expected, he decided to create the Growler bike with the aim of creating a different perspective of a typical beach/ city cruiser.

The bike is equipped with 29 inch tires, monarch springer front end, 2 speed internal kickback hub, disc brakes and a drink holder that will allow riders to transport a half gallon jug of beer, milk or other beverages.

“I see the designer’s role to lead people to what’s next…to push, to imagine, to create something great. It is important to me that people find a relationship with the objects that I create, inspiring creates new stories, memories and interactions with each other. Ultimately, that’s really what it’s all about.” – says Joey Ruiter, Founder of JRuiter + Studio
