While the first buggy, appeared on the beaches of California and democratized in 1964 as the “Manx” by Bruce Meyers. Now the German company has tried to revive the concept and the latest buggy concept was showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The car draws inspiration from Beetle-based beach buggies of the past, while incorporating a modern shape that includes no doors. In lieu of doors, there’s a waterproof cockpit with two neoprene bucket seas, drain holes, a grab-handle for the passenger, a removable infotainment module, and a fabric roof; ensuring that you can still take the Buggy Up! out to the beach for a spin. The hatchback has also been replaced with a trunk lid that splits to fold up and down for easy access.
