French artist Benedetto Bufalino‘s  thematic public art projects aim at creating humoristic and surrealist situations. In one his latest projects, Bufalino has transformed a retro French police car into a chicken coop using simple materials like chicken wire and old lumber. Except for the steering wheel and clutch, the entire interiors including seating has been discarded to accommodate a mini poultry. While maintaining the original exterior appearances: a vinyl police banner and blaring emergency lights situated on the roof, Bufalino opens the passenger doors  as well as the hood, and trunk to install a three dimensional wooden framework construction which is covered by chicken wire to create an enclosure space. The project ‘La Voiture de Police Poulailler‘ explores creative ways to reuse everyday objects that not only represents a sculptural object, but also serves as a functional piece.
