Best Day Trip Safaris in Tanzania Post -

Tanzania offers a range of activities and tours, even for those limited on time. You may want to squeeze in a tour when you have one free day after your safari and climbing adventures. Or you may have visited for work purposes and very much need that one day to unwind in the African nature.

Good news is, one day is enough to see plenty. And yes, you can see lots of wildlife too. It does not get better than this! Here are a few places we most definitely recommend for your day trips:

Arusha National Park

For a very reasonable price, you will be able to see plenty. Not too far from the Kenyan border, and close to Arusha town is Arusha National Park. Right from here you will be able to see lovely views of Mount Meru as well. Arusha National Park is a beautiful blend of landscapes, birds, wildlife and vegetation.

Materuni Waterfalls and Coffee tour

Just near the foot of Kilimanjaro is the village of Materuni, famous for its coffee and Chaga people. Here you can make your own cup of coffee the Chaga way. You can also hike to Materuni waterfalls, a beautiful sight and experience indeed. You can stand under the falls or swim in the clear waters.

Lake Chala

Only an hour away from Moshi town, Lake Chala is undeniably worth a visit. The scenery is out of this world, and the clear blue water will take your breath away. Lake Chala is a caldera lake, whose water comes straight from the Mountain. It is truly a quiet, relaxing place for your vacation.

Chemka Hot Springs

Chemka Hot Springs is also quite close-by to Moshi town. Here, you will find crystal clear waters that are kept warm by natural Geothermal heat from the underground. The surrounding views will leave you mesmerized, comprising of lush forest, monkeys and bird life. Take a dip in the water and relax your tired muscles.

Mount Kilimanjaro Day Hike

You cannot pay a visit to Moshi/ Arusha without going to the country’s pride, Mount Kilimanjaro. The day tour allows you to get to reach the first stage of the Kilimanjaro climb, via Marangu Route. The surroundings of nature here are unique in every way – Kilimanjaro is known to have changing vegetation as you climb higher.

Moshi Bike Tour

This is usually a guided tour as well. You can bike around for as long as 20km! Why not explore the small town and its tiny villages to see what it has to offer? You will most probably see lots of forest and farmland, as well as enjoy marvelous views of Kilimanjaro!
