Vienna based Bulgarian industrial designer Valentin Vedov has designed the Vienna Bike featuring a folding system and a multipurpose back storage.
Designed for short or long distance travels in urban and suburb areas, the bike can cover a distance of up to 60 km when assisted by pedaling and reach a speed of up to 22 km/h with a single charge. It uses a normal 230/ 110 V plug and the total charging time is 3 hours.
Unlike a standard tricycle, this electrically assisted tricycle has an exceptionally narrow rear side (35 cm between the back wheels) which makes it adaptable to be stored like a bicycle. The unique folding system makes it possible to transport the bike conveniently.
The Vienna Bike can carry a load of up to 40 kgs or 150 litres and the loading platform features a quick release fixing for easy securing and switching loads. The two back wheels provide the additional stability while carrying heavier loads. A specially designed children’s seat can also be mounted for powered-up rides with the child. All these features makes this bike an excellent sustainable alternative to cars for everyday groceries or commuting with a child.
A pedal assistance, innovative steering and suspension system makes it feel like you are riding on a regular bicycle.
