Spanish designer Jorge Penadés has created the Nomadic Chair, which is basically a continuation of of his graduation project ‘Nomadic Studio’. Through his project, Penadés explores the potential of temporary furniture is today’s fast paced world where people are constantly on the move. The Nomadic Chair is created from simple wooden boards that can be assembled together without any screws, nails or glue. The chair is crafted using traditional wooden joinery and it can be assembled and disassembled without any tools. The components can be packed together and be carried around like a backpack.
“While reducing comfort to the minimum in order to enlarge mobility to the maximum, I would like to encourage people to reconsider their ideas of contemporary furniture and give it a new dimension in a more ephemeral context.” says Jorge Penadés.
The Nomadic Chair will be showcased at Product Design Madrid from 21st to 24th November 2013.
