We recently happened to come across these amazing images by photographer Christopher Domakis who brings to us the not so amazing picture (in terms of ecosystem & urban planning) of Chongqing city in China. According to Christopher, “Chongqing is supposed to be the largest city in the world after the government decided to merge all districts into one big economic administrative area called province of Chongqing. This enormous and unbelievable fast growing economic area at the Yangtze river is competing with Shanghai and Beijing by becoming more and more important for China’s industry and economic growth…Chongqing is China’s example of economic power and investment on the one hand and poverty and lack of consideration about the environment, urban circumstances and quality of living on the other hand.”
