‘Dancing Colors‘ is a series of conceptual photography by Fabian Oefner with the aim of creating a bridge between the acoustical and the visual world. The images captured by Oefner lasts for a fraction of a second and are created by placing colored pigments on a piece of foil which is later placed on a speaker. When music is played, the plastic foil starts to vibrate causing movement of the colored pigments. Oefner connects a microphone to the speaker and also a flash system. As soon as the speaker emits a sound, the microphone picks it up and signals to the flash to trigger them. Brilliant idea & images!
