Losanges Rug by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec
The Losanges Rug has been designed by two talented designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec in collaboration with Nanimarquina. The design has been inspired by the traditional Persian rug, especially by the very old kilim savoir-faire which is a delicate mix of rusticity and fineness according to the designers. The project has been hugely supported by a team of craftsmen from the Northern region of Pakistan who managed to skilfully combine thirteen colours through the geometrical rhombus shape. As well as being crafted by hand, the Afghan wool is also spun by hand, which allows for some unique colour tones to be highlighted. “This subtly random technique makes each lozenge slightly different and each rug, a unique piece.”
