New York-based photographer Braden Summers created headlines last year with his All Love Is Equal project, a series of photographs featuring gay couples in a staged and stylized setting. The works were created during his world travel for 6 weeks and the photographs were shot in different location including Paris, Mumbai, Beirut, Johannesburg, Rio de Janeiro, New York City and California.

Most of the iconic romance in any visual form, be it painting or film-stills portrays heterosexual couples. Through this project, Summers has provided a ravishing vision of gay romance by using the same tools used to sell straight romance.

“A large driving force behing creating this series was actually less about affecting the gay community, and more about giving the general population a way to relate to gay imagery devoid of sex, victimization or banality.” explains Braden Summers

The photographs are dreamy illustrations, a futuristic vision of an open expression of love in different cultures.
