Sandwich Bike by Dutch Design Studio Bleijh
Conceptualized seven years ago by Dutch design studio Bleijh, the Sandwich Bike is finally out in to the markets. Instead of using a regular welded frame, this unconventional design consists of a frame which is made out of two pieces of pressed plywood connected together using ‘smart cylinders’, whereby the the frames and components become a rock-solid piece of technology that is both durable and extremely attractive. The most interesting part of this cool bike design is that you can build the entire bike yourself. The Sandwich Bike fits in a small, flat package which arrives at your doorstep by post…And that’s exactly when all the fun begins!! The kit comes with all the bike components and necessary tools to assemble it in one piece. By allowing the owner to build their Sandwich Bike they gain the opportunity to learn about the anatomy and mechanics of their new mode of transportation, plus, setting it up is fun and ecologically sensible and the finished project rides with confidence—smooth and sturdy. If you can make your own sandwich, then you can surely build a Sandwich Bike too.
