Showcased at the Salone del Mobile 2013, Raphia chair designed by Paolo Lucidi and Luca Pevere of Lucidi Pevere Design Studio for Casamania is made from a combination of a metal frame (available in red, azure, black and white) and cane (rattan and wicker) seat & backrest. The chair is a perfect blend of ancient artisan techniques and the new age industrial manufacturing techniques. The designers’ intention while developing the chair was an attempt to conserve the know-how of working with the natural material where manual skills and craftsmanship are combined to insure that objects are unique, particularly in a time where many things are mass produced.
