Renowned German photographer Michael Wolf expresses both the architectural complexity and density of the Parisian landscape through one of his latest projects titled Paris Rooftops. Born in Munich, having lived in cities in Canada and United States and currently residing in Hong Kong, it would not be hard to predict that Wolf is truly fascinated with the contemporary life in big cities and most of his work focuses on life in mega cities. Just like many of his previous projects, Paris Rooftops documents the architecture and the vernacular culture of Paris
The project eliminates all the clichés associated with the ‘City of Lights’ and instead focuses on the innumerable roof tops each with its own identity. Wolf’s strong geometric abstractions offer the viewer a freshly re-contextualized Parisian landscape that examines the density and life in a contemporary metropolis.
