American photographer Theron Humphrey’s ‘This Wild Idea‘, a photojournalism project initiated with the idea of “meeting people, loving folks and living the dream” while travelling across 50 states in United States during a period of one year gave birth to yet another interesting project called ‘Maddie on Things‘. The project is a collection of 120 photographs of Humphrey’s travel companion Maddie, an adorable & friendly coonhound adopted from an animal shelter just before the big trip.
While the photographs’ main highlight is Maddie’s unusual and extraordinary talent of being able to stand like a yoga expert on almost anything and everything, right from bicycles to heavy duty trucks and lawn mowers to shopping carts, what really is impressive is the the personification and lovely emotions of this beautiful living being. While Maddie was a fun travel companion, she was also a great teacher who taught & inspired Humphrey to enjoy the little things in life, cherish every moment and live life to the fullest.
”She sees the world in a way that I would never be able to see or smell” says Theron Humphrey
While Humphrey has found his best friend, Maddie simply makes us want to believe that ‘Dogs do have emotions…and souls too!’
