Interior designers Branimira Ivanova and Desislava Ivanova of Sofia-based design studioBrani & Desi have conceptualized a unique, creative and colourful kitchen design called “Cubism in the Kitchen”,
“If I paint a wild horse, you might not see the horse… but surely you will see the wildness!” ― Pablo Picasso. The colours and the forms have positive impact on individuals. “Cubism in the Kitchen” was inspired by the cubist style – the art movement of Pablo Picasso. The cubism is a product of the imagination.
Often the kitchen design is mainly aimed to its ergonomics without taking into account its originality. Through this project, the designers’ goal was to create a functional and intriguing kitchen which is for creative people who are not only looking for a functional space, but also love art and the idea of experimentations.
The kitchen is like a nest between the green branches of a fresh deciduous tree. The white color gives pureness, it is the fresh air in the room. A spicy red colour is used in contrast with the grass green to create a play. The space feels natural and energizing, it is an area where the residents feel inspired to be creative and think out of the box.
