Designed and built in Italy, the Carbon Wood Bike is a stylish, light-weight and extremely sturdy bike specially handcrafted for the modern-day biker. Created by a talented duo of father and son, the bike is a fusion of modern-minimalist design thinking and traditional wood-working craftsmanship.
The biggest challenge was to create a wooden bike which was light-weight yet solidly built. Considering that a bicycle constructed entirely out of wood would not only be too heavy, but also would not withstand the rough roads, the father-son duo decided to incorporate carbon fiber in the frame construction, thus naming it as Carbon Wood Bike.
The frame including the saddle and handlebar are entirely handcrafted with layers of bent ash, mahogany and carbon fiber. Weighing just over nine kilogram, the carbon fiber components makes the bike as solid as any aluminium or steel frame. The Carbon Wood Bike is a perfect blend of hand-craft, design and technology!
