The Donky Bike is a unique utility vehicle designed by Ben Wilson and Jonathan Pooley. In 2006, when the use of bicycles was growingly rapidly, the duo started brainstorming ideas to create an affordable & practical bike for the urban dwellers. The biggest issue faced by most city bikers is storage space to carry their household goods from point A to point B. After studying the numerous load-carrying designs from the Netherlands and the strength and simplicity of BMX components, Wilson and Pooley’s visualization started to take form.
The Donky Bike, available in lime green & jet black, comes with 20″ wheels to keep the carbon footprints minimal. The bike is fabricated from an unique, versatile and compact frame which comes with storage racks in the front and rear which can be removed or mounted vertically for storage. The bike is installed with a gear system for an efficient biking experience. Last but not the least, the bike comes with an integral locking system in the rear wheel, which ensures a carefree sleep during night time. While the bike has been already been a super hit amongst the city people, the creators are planning to develop it further with an introduction of front and rear child seat options…Isn’t this COOL!
