Designed by Olson Kundig Architects, the ‘Delta Shelter’ is a weekend cabin near a river in Mazama, WA. The structure consists of a steel box on stilts which can be completely shuttered when the owner is away. The 20 feet x 20 feet square footprint rises three stories and is topped by the living room/kitchen. Large, 10 feet x 18 feet steel shutters can be closed simultaneously using a hand crank.
