After having featured the Magazine Hanger Chair, we have been following designer Seung Han Lee’s work and today I would like to share yet another wonderful creation of his named ‘Cultural Chair’. The chair gets its composite form from a mixture of recycled newspaper and rice glue. The chair explores the cultural difference between the east and west.
“My inspiration here was to attempt to create something that combined elements from both Eastern and Western cultures working together harmoniously to produce a coherent and useful design. The most attractive feature of this design, for me as an artist, is the fact that I had to actually produce all the materials. I used by changing them from their original state into a workable medium, strong enough to withstand repeated use.” – says Seung
