‘Apollo’ is one of the lighting design projects which won the 3rd place at the [D3] Contest for Young Designers. Designed by Marc Bell and Robin Grasby of London based design studio International, this lamp is made from layered aluminum sheets. The system comprises of modular spun-aluminum shades with varying laser-cut slits. Light can be filtered to varying degrees by layering them in different combinations over a standard screw-cap holder. The Apollo series also includes solid layers to completely block and direct the light.
