3D printed lighting design by Strand+Hvass

Copenhagen-based design studio Strand + Hvass has designed the Chaos.MGX table lamp. Strand + Hvass bring their own stringent aesthetic approach to the design of modern lighting. While the results of this approach are richly diverse, they all share an unswerving dedication to simplicity, a view of the whole and an eye to detail.

Chaos MGX is one of their innovative lighting designs which has been produced using 3D printing – direct from thought through the computer to finished product, and without the constraints of traditional tools. The 1000 sticks shield the light and create an alluring display of shadow and light.

We find that the dialogue with customers is crucial – and that a situated design approach is what works best both aesthetically and commercially.”chaos mgx - 3d printed lighting design by Strand+Hvass - 05After repeated contemplation the initially chaotic appearance of this table lamp reveals itself as a design that is as harmonious and balanced as it is ingenious.
