As well as the usual attempts to decode invites (who knows what \u2018formalwear\u2019 means anymore?), there\u2019s also a whole load of pesky practicalities to bear in mind\u2013 like putting together an ensemble that\u2019ll keep you cool during a swelteringly hot evening.<\/p>\n

Because once the sun starts shining and the temperature rises, feeling cool and comfortable quickly becomes far more important than looking fashionable.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, we\u2019re sharing a few top tips for dressing to stylishly survive a night out in the middle of a heatwave. Check them out.<\/p>\n

#1: get the dress right<\/strong><\/p>\n

First things first, you need to pick the right outfit \u2013 preferably one you feel comfortable and confident in.<\/p>\n

Remember, you don\u2019t have to bare it all to stay cool (unless you want to, of course).A good midi length party dress (websites like AX Paris<\/a> have a ton of them) is perfect if you\u2019re not a fan of flashing too much flesh.<\/p>\n

Whatever length or style of dress you go for, always avoid blacks in favour of whites, creams and light colours \u2013 they reflect the sun and help to keep you cool.<\/p>\n

#2:keep your hair under control<\/strong><\/p>\n

After spending time patiently teasing your hair into full glossy waves, discovering that it\u2019s turned into a frizzy mess after hitting the dance floor for a couple of songs is sure to send you spiralling into a night-ruining bad mood.<\/p>\n

Washing your face twice a day with a gentle cleanser (over-exfoliating your skin will only make it oilier) and applying primer should help to keep oil at bay and your makeup in place.<\/p>\n

As a last resort, you can always pop some cosmetic blotting paper in your handbag (Shiseido\u2019s<\/a> aren\u2019t the cheapest but they are kind to your skin) for quick refreshes in the club\u2019s bathroom.<\/p>\n

#4:wear comfy shoes<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you\u2019re barely surviving the heat, the last thing you want is a pair of skyscraper heels ripping into your feet all night.<\/p>\n

Go for wedges, if you like to add height, or some stylish flat sandals (mules or sliders are very on trend this year) for footwear you can comfortably walk and dance in.<\/p>\n
