In recent times, consumer trends have gradually shifted from “More for Less” to a lifestyle focused on Health & Wellness, Customization and Green Living. In order to catch up with these fast changing trends, the culinary world is experimenting with everything from vegan organic cuisine to the high art of marijuana cooking.

While some of the chefs prefer shopping for their fresh produces at the organic market, there is one restaurant in Israel which grows its own stash of fresh herbs. Studio Yaron Tal has designed a new chef restaurant called Segev Kitchen Garden located in Hod-Hasharon near Tel Aviv.

The restaurant is designed like a greenhouse with herbs hanging from all walls and ceiling and growing out of houseplants between tables. The different herbs are used by the chef in the preparation of dishes, while also serving as an air purifier and giving the restaurant a fresh green aroma. Materials with tones of green, brown and yellows are used in the design imitating the aesthetic of a real greenhouse. Photography by Yoav Gurin
