John Bela of Rebar Group in collaboration with Till Wolfer of N55 created the ‘Parkcycle Swarm’ (consisting of four mobile parks) to explore the possibilities of a public sculpture, as well as to create public awareness about biking as an eco-commuting option and the importance of green spaces in urban settings. Each bike-mounted park can accommodate a rider as well as plants, trees, picnic gear or lawn games. Extra passengers can be seated in the front of the bikes. The Parkcycle can be moved from one area to another giving you the flexibility to create a green picnic spot wherever you feel like. Is it going to be a bigger party? You can simply join all the four mobile parks together to create one large green space.

Produced by YARAT, the Parkcycle was specially commissioned for PARTICIPATE: Baku Public Art Festival 2013 which runs in the capital of Azerbaijan until 17th September 2013. The Parkcycle Swarm can be spotted around Baku city during the festival, inviting people to bike the mobile park throughout the city.
