“The main purpose is to introduce guests to Indonesian contemporary art that is fun, dynamic, and conceptual,” says Christine Radjimin. “Artotel works with galleries as well as individual artists. Hopefully these collaborations will expose the art scene to those who have never encountered contemporary art.” she adds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The hotel was conceptualized with the idea of creating an environment which would serve as a platform for promoting artistic talents, as well as providing all the modern amenities and luxurious comforts to the visitors. The hotel has four different rooms with have similar wooden furniture and white walls. What distinguishes them from each other is the paintings in bold and bright colours on the wall behind the bed by different Indonesian contemporary \u00a0artists. The public areas consists of the lobby featuring the spiral staircase with bold graffiti art, the contemporary style restaurant which is connected to the lounge area which also serves like a walk-through art gallery.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After the huge success of Artotel in Surabaya, the Radjimins are planning to launch a\u00a0sister hotel in Jakarta coming November, followed by another one in Bali in 2015.<\/p>\n
