There are\u00a0so many beautiful & unique deco styles out there…so many choices when it comes to styles. The list of decorating is truly endless depending on so many factors. A couple of years ago while working on a project, I came across a new decor style which was truly unbelievable and unclassifiable. I couldn’t place it in any other style I’d ever known before.<\/p>\n

Nowadays they call it ‘Dirty chic<\/a>‘ – Just when past meets present and the imperfection becomes chic<\/em>. It\u00a0 carries a very strong feeling of decadence and an intentional imperfect look which stands out the actual designs. Everything seems frozen in time….cracks in the walls, walls where you can see different layers of paint that were added over the years, exposed bricks<\/a>, walls where the plaster and paint has ripped off, wear away textures, splintered wood furniture.<\/p>\n

It feels like\u00a0 the ‘dirty chic’ style brings back the dark aspect of Romanticism in the nineteenth century<\/a>\u00a0and its legacy. Just a moment in time where feelings prevails over reason, where the true perfection becomes imperfect and imperfection becomes beautiful. The dark historical atmosphere of this style just shows how the ravages of time left indelible impressions on textures, materials…just like a wrinkle on the skin. Every object and detail has a story to narrate and is a material statement of the ravage of time on a space. I think the dirty style is unique and evocative….past meets present with no prejudices. You have the memories!!\u00a0 Let’s put them together!!!<\/p>\n
