I am sure most of you are already too curious about this pencil after reading the title. So, lets get straight to business. Sprout is the latest project on Kickstarter by Democratech and it’s already got over 200 backers and almost $ 4,000 of their $25,000 goal. So, what is the sprout pencil all about? It is a pencil made around high quality Ticonderoga cedar body with a seed capsule at the tip. It’s writes like any regular pencil…the only difference is when the Sprout becomes too short to write, you simply plant it in a pot, water it and tadaaang! You have beautiful herb, flower or vegetable.<\/p>\n

“The seed capsule is water activated, the first few times you water Sprout dissolves the protective capsule and starts the seed’s germination. The pencil shaft can be kept in the soil as a helpful labeled planting marker or it can be removed. \u00a0We’ve planted dozens of Sprouts and have found that they usually sprout in around a week.”<\/em> – says Democratech<\/p>\n
