Cameroon-born artist\u00a0Pascale Marthine Tayou’s art installation named ‘Reverse City<\/a>‘\u00a0 in the small village of\u00a0 Joyama, is basically a collection of giant colour pencils.\u00a0 Each pencil is suspended vertically upside-down and fixed to a stainless steel frame 2 metres above the ground level. The pointed part of the pencils is directed towards the visitors on the ground level which invokes a feeling of awe and fear at the same time. The pencils are of different heights and each pencil bears a name of a country.<\/p>\n

Looking at the brighter side of life, it gives me an impression that the artist has tried to create his vision of a colourful & beautiful world which forms a peaceful city or probably a global village. The pointed part of the pencil is directed towards the enemies (in the form of visitors) of humanity to threaten them.<\/p>\n
