Vespas are known for their distinctive shape and their pressed-steel bodies. But Portuguese carpenter and Vespa enthusiast, Carlos Alberto<\/strong> decided to get rid of the steel curves and replace them by laminated wood. The wooden Vespa which is intelligently developed and crafted by Alberto is called Daniela, named after his daughter.<\/p>\n

The scooter is based on an original Vespa which had fallen into complete disrepair, but using long-tested woodcraft techniques a flowing new body was constructed for the runabout. The main spine of the bike is fashioned from steam bent and laminated veneers upon which very nicely carved body work hangs.
