Copenhagen-based design studio\u00a0Strand + Hvass<\/strong> has designed\u00a0<\/strong>the\u00a0Chaos.MGX<\/strong> table lamp. Strand + Hvass bring their own stringent aesthetic approach to the design of modern lighting. While the results of this approach are richly diverse, they all share an unswerving dedication to simplicity, a view of the whole and an eye to detail.<\/p>\n

Chaos MGX is one of their innovative lighting designs which has been\u00a0produced using 3D printing – direct from thought through the computer to finished product, and without the constraints of traditional tools. The 1000 sticks shield the light and create an alluring display of shadow and light.<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/a>“We like to work closely with clients who are looking to break new ground through design solutions,”<\/i> says Niels Hvass. “In our experience, the best results come from thinking in complete solutions – going for the whole before the parts.”<\/i> Christina Strand continues, “Designing for the commercial market means understanding users and the contexts in which our designs are used. We find that the dialogue with customers is crucial – and that a situated design approach is what works best both aesthetically and commercially.”<\/i><\/a>After repeated contemplation the initially chaotic appearance of this table lamp reveals itself as a design that is as harmonious and balanced as it is ingenious.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
