‘Spun Guitar Series’ is a collaboration of London based Damien Hirst and Flea-member of American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers who together have come up with a collection of 125 colour spun guitars with cases decorated in the same fashion. The multi coloured bass guitars are available in an edition of 50 and include an ‘exquisite corpse’ sketch by Hirst and Flea, a photograph of the artists holding the multi coloured guitar and 20 plectrums . All the proceeds from sale will go towards Flea’s non-profit organization, Silverlake Conservatory of Music. The primary focus of the Los angeles-based charity is to enrich the lives of youth from the community through affordable or free music lessons and instruments.
