In reply to Sajith Madhav. There are same seeds that need the heat to start growing. That is part of the reason for controlled fires because it helps renew growth.

I’ve been thinking the same for years now, so i’ll try to be constructive about this. Being a smoker i know that the material with which the filter is made will change the flavour of cigarette and it’s all about that, and that’s not explicit in the concept, which is probably even older than myself. Sajith Madhav points out an interesting aspect, but probably some seed would be able to take the heat. And Think Ecodesign points out another concern, because the behaviour of majority of smokers is just too ruthless, although i have a very small buttcase (:D) that is completly odourless and as been working fine for some years now, and cig companies have never distributed these in any of their fantaaaastic promotions and commercial tricks, although if go in european airports, the smoking rooms in many of them are sponsored by tobacco companies, so they don’t really care of what happens to the darned butts in their end of life cycle, they just care about getting smokers addicted and alive (at least for some years) in order for these people to pass on the habit to younger generations, because that’s how ciggie addiction is passed on. Is just good to see that Mr. Forman has good connections that make recycling ideas possible, but not without a slight sense of superficiality. And Chris: even if they were for sale you would probably not like the taste of your after meal cigarette. Sorry if i sound harsh but its like having an article on the invention of the solution for starvation (metaphorically speaking).

Not sure if this is true, but this idea can cause for pollution of only more cigarette butts. After all, how long does it take befor the butt is changed into a plant? This will give smokers basically another reason just to throw their cigarette butts on the ground.

In reply to Jim. I looked up Green Butts. On their site they have biodegradable filters, but nothing about seeds in their filters.
