Swiss watch manufacturer, Piaget is well known for it’s ultra thin & minimalist watch design. The brand has once again broken it’s own record with the latest in-house design called the ‘Altiplano’ model which is the world’s thinnest watches with a 2.35 mm thick dial. The watch is powered by their newest Calibre 1208P automatic movement. The mirror-rotor is made of 22 carat yellow gold and hence it has a relatively large case of 43 mm diameter and 5.25 mm thickness. The watch also has an outstanding technical performance and high reliability: low-inertia balance (2.90 mg.cm2) , frequency 21,600 vph, power reserve of up to 40 hours.According to sources, “It is reported that Piaget Altiplano in a white gold case will be offered at a recommended retail price of $21,500, which makes it quite affordable considering its industry leading thinness and the level of craftsmanship that it offers.”
“Timeless purity and classicism converge in this ultra-thin white-gold timepiece, which pays homage to the elegance and refinement characteristic of Piaget. In a resolutely minimalistic spirit reflected by the highly contemporary dimensions of the Altiplano, Piaget continues to push back the limits of micro mechanics by achieving two new records in the field of ultra-thin watches: thanks to its micro-rotor principle, that of the thinnest automatic mechanical movement on the market measuring just 2.35 mm thick; and that of the thinnest watch in its category, with a thickness of 5.25 mm. The silver-colored dial, arranged on three levels, is also highly refined with its small-seconds display at 4 o’clock. A truly modern classic that is both sober and elegant.”
